The Villach bus service - New Frequencies & new Routes

In July 2022, for the first time in the history of our city, a new bus service was introduced. It ensures a half-hourly service during rush hours. With the support of the State of Carinthia and in cooperation with Dr Richard, the City of Villach was able to make numerous further improvements and adjustments. On this page you will find all information about the Villach bus service.

Attention: timetable changes

Every year in December, the schedules of public transport are adjusted. This was also the case with Villacher BUS:SI. New routes and new timetables have been in effect since December 10th. This time there were a few other changes as a result of the timetable change: On the one hand, some stop names in Villach were adjusted, and on the other hand, there was also a change in the allocation of bus platforms at the bus station. Instead of 1 to 18, the bus platforms at the East bus station are now called A to C, and at the West bus station D to F.

As part of the timetable change on December 10, 2023, 34 stop names in Villach will change. The stop names are mostly adapted to the respective street names. Of course, the stops themselves remain unchanged - only the name is different.

New assignment of the bus platforms at the bus station

As of December 10, 2023, there will also be a change to the bus platforms at the bus station as part of the timetable change. The previous bus platform numbers (1 to 18) now become bus platforms A,B,C at the East bus station and D, E, F at the West bus station. In the future, the Villach BUS:SI lines will depart from the East bus station on platforms A,B,C. This makes driving BUS:SI even easier and clearer.

For the first time in the history of our city, a new bus service was introduced in July 2022. It ensures a half-hourly service during rush hours. With the support of the State of Carinthia and in cooperation with Dr Richard, the City of Villach was able to make numerous further improvements and adjustments. On December 11, a comprehensively revised bus schedule was launched, which comprises numerous changes and improvements. As of February 20, 2023, further adjustments were made to several connections.

Additionally, a new, clearly laid out network diagram of all regional and interregional bus and railway routes in Villach was created. The diagram is displayed at the most important stops and can also be downloaded here:

Any questions?

New office for all questions regarding the bus services at Hans-Gasser-Platz 9

The City of Villach and Dr Richard Kärnten have opened a new “bus office” at Hans-Gasser-Platz. A separate office has been opened in order to competently address and answer questions regarding the bus service. The new bus office is the central point of contact for all kinds of passenger concerns. Here, citizens can also request student and apprentice passes as well as discount entitlements for senior citizens and students.

On July 11, Villach launched its first bus service. As known, the buses now go every half hour during peak times and every hour outside of peak times. The feedback so far has already been great, and with more than 500 participants the bus survey also turned to be very popular.
